Melissa-Ashley a.k.a Anne Howe (born Melissa Bertsch on August 24, 1978 in van Nuys, California) is an American pornographic film actress and nude model infamously known for being mistaken as being an under-aged adult performer due to her waifish physique and youthful facial features. Her adult career began in 1998 and appeared in 67 titles before retiring from porn in 2006.

Reputedly the daughter of a former 70s porn actress, Melissa-Ashley entered the adult scene as a solo website softcore and lesbian model. In her video spiels, she states on camera that she is 18. But despite making appearances wearing pigtails and usually being dressed in knee high socks and girlish underwear, Melissa-Ashley was actually 20-years-old when she made her adult film debut in 1998 for small amateur studios like Dane Productions and Curiosa before moving on to do her first anal scene in Ed Powers’ “New Ends 14” and appearing in a series of pro-am videos for Odyssey, Zane Entertainment, and JM Productions into 1999. Melissa-Ashley had been mistaken for a minor numerous times and in several cases where her images were mistaken for child pornography, she had either successfully testified for the defense or given evidence leading to those charges being dropped. With so much notoriety and suspicion regarding her appearance, however, she was not able to procure roles with any major studios and was relegated to working mostly with smaller gonzo studios for the rest of her career until 2006.

After having disappeared from the entertainment industry since 2006, Melissa-Ashley reappeared in the mainstream scene under the name ‘Anne Howe’ in the Australian mockumentary comedy “The Telemarketers Show” in 2012.
