Melissa Lauren (born Barbara Masvaleix on October 16, 1984 in La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, France) is a French pornographic actress and director whose career started in 2003 and continues to the present day. She has a filmography of about 465 titles as a performer and an additional 17 as a director.

Lauren trained in the culinary arts for three years and worked for a year in a restaurant in Paris as a pastry chef. Claiming that she entered into porn simply because of her love of sex and to “have fun and try everything I can try,” Lauren answered a casting call ad in a newspaper from French director, John B. Root and began filming six days later in June of 2003. Within the year she completed 6 films for French and Italian porn studios before moving to Los Angeles in 2004 to launch a porn career stateside and freelance for studios such as Evil Angel, Anabolic Video, Diabolic Video, Red Light District and Wicked Pictures and become renowned for performing rough and extreme hardcore such as double anal, bondage, and watersports. In 2006, Lauren would shoot her most popular film, Evil Angel’s “Fashionistas Saffado: The Challenge” where she would receive a 2007 AVN Award for Best Group Sex Scene, Video and a 2007 Ninfa Award for Most Original Sex Sequence. She would also later receive the 2008 AVN Award, Best Three-way Sex Scene for “Fashionistas Safado: Berlin” (with fellow French porn star Katsuni and Rocco Siffredi) and 2008 AVN Award for Best Sex Scene in a Foreign-Shot Production (“Furious Fuckers Final Race”).

In 2006, after making her directorial debut in “Plucked Then Fucked 1” and helming the “Hellfire Sex” series for JM Productions, Lauren announced she was would only do girl-girl scenes, solo, and photo shoots so that she could concentrate on directing. In 2007 she became Diabolic Video’s first female director, and went on to direct two volumes of the “Unnatural Sex” and three volumes of the “Girls Will Be Girls” series. She would return to doing heterosexual hardcore on-cam in 2009 by working with Wicked Pictures, Brazzers, BangBros, and Digital Playground among others.
