Nozomi Momoi (桃井望 Nozomi Momoi, born September 23, 1978 – died October 12, 2002) was a popular and prolific Japanese AV idol best known for her "baby face that topped off a huge set of boobs" and performing in rape and schoolgirl-themed porn. She had appeared in over 100 original videos and compilations from 2001 and even after her death until 2006. At the height of her career, Momoi was murdered at the age of 24 in what is still considered one of the most shocking unsolved cases in recent Japanese crime annals.

Born in Tokyo but raised in Nagano, Japan, Momoi was scouted by an AV agent and made her adult debut in Dogma studio’s “Innocent Desire” in April 2001. Quickly, Momoi became a popular porn idol for her endearing mix of schoolgirl innocence and sexual energy and worked into early 2002 with a variety of labels in which she specialized in rape and seduction themed films where she was usually a school girl or ingénue getting corrupted. Towards the end of her life, Momoi had become tired of making the same rape/school girl flicks, but her popularity had started to earn her the right to choose her roles, and in July 2002, she released her first video where she played a dominant, more non-conventional role. VIP-Chao’s “Popular Actresses Fucking Virgin Boys” featured Momoi, along with Kyoka Usami and Mirai Hirooka, having sex with amateur virgin males. She also did the video “La Vie En Nose” (posthumously released in 2006) in 2002 which dealt with the unusual nose fetish theme.

With her career still on the rise, Momoi was reportedly planning on retiring from AV, getting married and moving to the stage. However, on one of her trips back to her hometown of Nagano on October 12, 2002, she was found stabbed to death and set on fire by the Narai River along with a male companion found dead in a nearby burnt out car. Initially ruled by police as a murder- suicide pact between the couple, a later civil court ruled that the murders were committed by a third party and the case remains unsolved to this day.
